African Maasai Painting

Have you ever heard of the Dance of Dominance? Not many have. Dancing shows itself in many different forms around the world. There are dances to show emotion such as happiness or sadness. Traditional dances appear at weddings and other ceremonial parties. Could you imagine have to dance to show that you are the more dominant person? It doesn't seem possible, yet that is what happens with the Maasai tribe.

All the young warriors come out right as dusk is about to fall. They prepare themselves, this jump means a great deal to each one of them. The warrior with the highest jump is the most dominant of the entire tribe.
